What to Bring to Your First Visit

Your initial appointment at First Coast Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will consist of a thorough exam of your mouth by Dr. Skigen or Dr. Massaro and a consultation in which we will discuss your dentist's diagnosis and our treatment options. Occasionally, we can perform your treatment the same day as your consultation; however, if you have a complex medical history or need significant treatment in order to regain your oral health and smile, we will design a customized treatment plan and schedule a second appointment for you.

Please bring the following information with you to your initial consultation:

  • Your referral slip

  • Any X-rays that are applicable

  • A list of your current medications

  • Your insurance card

  • If your dentist has taken X-rays, please request that these images be forwarded to our office, or pick them up and bring them with you to your appointment. Any additional X-rays can be taken at our office as needed.

If you have a medical condition that may be a concern during surgery (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.), please notify us before your appointment. We also ask that you let us know if you are using any medications to manage these conditions.
